Paper Format and
Submission
Information for Authors
Abstracts (150-300 words, including title, the list of authors
and their affiliations, keywords, and abstract) are requested in
order to facilitate the review process. The submitted abstracts
should have the following structure: 1. Paper title; 2. List of
authors with their affiliations; 3. List of keywords; and 4.
Paper abstract (plain text in ASCII, 150-300 words, no images)
Original unpublished papers of up to 10 pages (single-spaced, 10
point font, including figures, tables, and references) are
invited for full paper submission. Manuscript must be written in
English. Full papers should present previously-unpublished,
original results that are not simultaneously submitted
elsewhere. All papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the
International Program Committee. Submissions are made
electronically in PDF format only (no paper copy will be
accepted)!
Those who plan to use LaTeX or MS-Word for compiling their
manuscripts, we recommend you to use the style file or template
available through the IEEE CS sites: 8.5" x 11", two-column
format, 10 point font, single-spaced.
Full papers should be submitted electronically via the
conference paper submission and management system as PDF files
only. More submission instructions will be available on the
conference website in September 2007. If you have any questions

Conference Proceedings
The accepted paper contributions will be presented during the
conference and will appear in the conference proceedings
published by IEEE Computer Society Press. The proceedings will
be archived in IEEE Computer Society digital libraries (CSDL).

The SMI 2008 submission and review site has been set up at: https://precisionconf
erence.com/~smi. Please upload your abstracts and full papers to this online system before the SMI08 submission deadlines (November 27, 2007 Abstracts due; December 9, 2007 Full Papers due)!
Journal Publications
Selected papers of outstanding quality that
have been presented at SMI'08 will be published in special
issues of major journals including:
IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, International
Journal of Shape Modeling, Graphical Models and The Visual
Computer.
