Our Executive Board

  • President: Cristina Mata

    Cristina is a 2nd year Ph.D. student in the Computer Vision lab, advised by Michael Ryoo. Her research interests lie broadly in computer vision with a focus on video understanding and its applications to content moderation. As President of CS GSO she strives to foster connections and support systems within the graduate student community. She is also passionate about empowering women and serves as Vice President of GWISE.

  • Vice President: Pratik Vaishnavi

    Pratik is a 3rd year PhD student working in Professor Amir Rahmati’s lab. His research is focused on the intersection of Machine learning and Security. Prior to joining the PhD program, he graduated from Stony Brook University with a Masters in Computer Science. He spent the summer of 2020 interning at Amazon (Amazon Go team), working on security aspects of identity verification using Computer Vision. In his free time, he likes to play tennis and explore the beautiful beaches and parks of Long Island.

  • Treasurer: Dheeraj Ramchandani

    Dheeraj is a first year MS student interested in the application of ML to Systems. Apart from coding, he loves cooking and enjoys roller blading.

  • Secretary and Website Coordinator: Rebecca Drucker

    Rebecca is a 3rd year PhD student working in the NetSys lab with Professor Aruna Balasubramanian. Her research involves optimizing web performance at the application and transport layers, particularly for streaming video. She enjoys hiking, cross stitching, and watching true crime television shows.

  • MS Student Representative: Abhay Goyal

    Abhay is currently pursuing my Master's in Computer science. He works with Prof Christian Luhmann (affiliate faculty with the Psychology Department). He is interested in working on the intersection of Computer science, Psychology and Decision Making. He is an avid reader.

  • Social Media Representative: Zuhui Wang

    Zuhui is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science (CS) Department, and he comes from China. It is his honor to be the Social Media Representative of CSGSO. He takes charge of the CSGSO official accounts on social media platforms, such as update events and share news in our department. Making our CS department as a warm family is his target in this organization. If anyone wants to make contributions to the CSGSO or needs help, please do not hesitate to contact him.

  • Event Coordinator: Veena Krish

    Veena is a 2nd year PhD student. She is in the Ethos Lab (Prof Amir Rahmati), interested in the security of medical technologies (intersection of security, machine learning, and cyber-physical systems). This year she will start writing for the GWiSE blog, about diversity/inclusion efforts at SBU. Favorite Long Island-based passtime: wandering around Book Revue in Huntington (which she misses!). Hobbies: she plays the piano and guitar.
