Student Work
This semester students started off using
Audacity to learn about
the properties of sound. With this tool, they used basic waveforms to build simple
Melodies ,
Rhythms
,
and Musical Patterns
.
Up next they proceeded to construct songs using
Samples
and
their own Raw Recordings
. Then students used Web Audio to make their own custom Instruments
and audified The Whizzler using their
chosen Musical Scale
.
Then students used the Nyquist programming language to
synthesize their own custom Musical Instrument
.
Students then used JFugue to transcribe National Anthem
sheet music for piano into MIDI Songs
and then to construct their own Black MIDI
.
In the final assignment, students used JavaScript
with MIDI.js and Web Audio to extend Audifly
, a Music Visualization
Web App, by creating their own custom Mp3 and MIDI renderers..
