The workshop speakers and their topics are (clock-wise):

Pradipta De teaches on Mobile Cloud Computing. He is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at SUNY Korea and a Research Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University. Prior to joining SUNY-Korea, Pradipta was a Research Staff Member of IBM Research, India and spent 7 years in corporate research since 2005. At SUNY Korea, Pradipta directs the Mobile Systems and Solutions (MoSyS) lab. Pradipta is a senior member of the IEEE. He has authored more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed conferences. Dimitris Samaras teaches on Deep Learning. He received his PhD in 2001 from the University of Pennsylvania. Since 2000, he taught at Stony Brook University, where he is an associate professor and the director of the Image Analysis Laboratory. Since 2012 he is also the DIGITEO Chair in Ecole Centrale de Paris. His research interests include the study of illumination in images, deformable models, face recognition, tracking and analysis of facial expression, categorical object recognition in human and computer vision, and statistical methods for the analysis of functional brain imaging data. Klaus Mueller teaches on Data Science. He received a PhD in computer science from the Ohio State University. He is currently a professor in the Computer Science Department at Stony Brook University and the chair of the Computer Science Department at SUNY Korea. His current research interests are computer graphics, visual analytics, medical imaging, and high-performance computing. He won the US National Science Foundation CAREER award in 2001 and the SUNY Chancellor Award in 2011. Mueller has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, which have been cited more than 6,000 times. Samir Das teaches on Internet of Things. He is a Professor of Computer Science at Stony Brook University. He also serves as the Director of the Networking Technologies Division in CEWIT, the New York State Center of Excellence on Wireless and Information Technology. His research interests are in wireless networking and mobile computing, focusing on protocols, systems and performance evaluation. In the past, he received the U.S. National Science Foundation’s CAREER award. He has co-chaired the technical program committees of premier mobile networking conferences and has served on the editorial boards of major networking journals.
