Hi im Sammi a new grad from Stony and ex President of WiCS.

What advice would you give to your younger self? 📝

Keep dreaming big and reaching for the stars. Keep smashing what you previously thought you couldn’t do before because everything you need is already within you

How have you been involved with WiCS 💻 & how has WiCS impacted you?

I was a part of WiCS since my freshman year as a member. I really liked the club and the people which motivated me to run as an Event Committee which I didn’t end up winning but I still stayed involved. Later, I ran to become the Secretary and surprisingly got elected for my Sophomore year. From there I became the Vice President junior year and then President senior year. The rest is history. WiCS has helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. The truth is, it’s harder in your head than it is in real life. Not just this but it’s through the club that I first met the people that I would then spend the next few years with during my time at Stony Brook. Im forever grateful for my time in the club and I hope it continues to flourish : )

What are your plans after graduation? 👩‍🎓

I am enjoying my summer break before entering the workforce. Im doing this by resuming the hobbies I paused to focus on school like video editing and drawing! Also spending lots of time with the people around me and re-exploring my own city🗽
