Introduce yourself! 🗣

Hi, my name is Kayla Fang, and I graduated with a bachelor’s in Computer Science and a minor in Digital Arts. I was part of WISE Honors and the CS Departmental Honors program. I have been on WiCS eboard since sophomore year, serving as Graphic Designer twice and Webmaster once. In my free time, I love reading, exploring many artistic pursuits, and spending time with friends and family.

What advice would you give to your younger self? 📝

Stop thinking so much and just go for it. Your fear of rejection would just turn into regret. Do things for the experience, live in the present, and have fun :)

What is the most meaningful thing you gained from WiCS? 🧐

I don’t think I can pinpoint just one thing that I have gained from WiCS since this club has helped me grow in so many aspects. Through my experience on eboard, I was given the chance to practice leadership, design skills, and getting out of my comfort zone. I’m also just grateful to have been a part of this community, gaining exposure to valuable opportunities and being surrounded by people pursuing similar paths. I have never felt alone in my major as a woman and instead felt motivated to try harder and aim higher. Thank you WiCS!

What are your plans after graduation? 👩‍🎓

Fun: I just came back from a friends trip to South Korea + Japan
Career: I plan to start my full time job as a Software Engineer
