Senior Spotlight: Josias Gonzalez

πŸŒŸπŸŽ‰ For today’s Senior Spotlight, we have Josias Gonzalez! πŸŽ‰πŸŒŸ

Introduce yourself! πŸ—£

Hey I’m Josias!!! I was the event committee chair for the 22’-23’ academic year and was also just recently the president of SHPE (shoutout to my SHPEitos) for the 23’-24’ academic year. (Idk what to say for when I introduce myself lol)

Why did you join WiCS? πŸ’»

Great question! I was forced to attend the first fall GBM back in 2021 by Jendy and Sammi (just kidding). They told me it didn’t matter if I was a guy in MEC and I would be supporting them and the clubs mission by attending 😎. It was a very lively and welcoming environment so I continued to attend and support 🫑.

What is the most meaningful thing you gained from WiCS? 🧐

I would say that the most meaningful thing I gained from being in WiCS were the skills to connect with others as well as leadership skills. My experience with the event committee members and running events gave me some great practice for any future events and various other teams I would have to work with, whether that be for school related reasons or even with other organizations. I became familiar with a lot of other student leaders and would say that because of WiCS, I gained even more confidence and overall grew as a person. 😎

What are your plans after graduation? πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ“

Ok well I’m kinda chilling rn got a silly little job for the moment and planning to take my fe exam in the near future but first I gotta do some studying and then in the fall I’ll be back to get my masters 😎

A major congratulations to Josias for graduating πŸŽ“! We deeply appreciate your contributions to the WiCS community throughout the years 🀍🀍!!!
