Identifying a client for your term project:
The client should be willing to work with you to develop a web-based prototype application that promotes their product or service. This means they will provide you with information about the customers or people they serve; details of their events, activities, and products; and will help you to define the mission of their business or organization. You should try to find a client whose activities offer a rich media experience for users such as photos and videos. Logistically you should select a client that you will have easy access to meet with. On-campus students should consider a student club or service organization. Off-campus students could consider a small business operated by a friend or relative.
Please provide the following info for 2 potential clients in an email to uidev@cs.stonybrook.edu with “client info” in the subject line:
Client Name:
Business, Agency, or Organization Name:
Type of Business, Product, or Service:
Client Address or Location:
Email Address:
Current Web Site URL (if applicable):
Brief synopsis of the client's services or products and the stakeholders they serve.
Give your selection considerable thought, since it will be the basis for your term project and the assignments leading up to it. A few guidelines:
1. No fictitious clients
2. No well-established businesses or organizations where you do not have access to a decision-maker
3. You can't be the client
All term project selections are subject to approval by the instructor.
