Documentation

You will be using Google Drive to archive your work, and SB You (WordPress) to document it. The launch page for SB You is http://you.stonybrook.edu. Log in with your Net ID and password, then start a new site (make sure the site is Public). The naming convention for the site should be “334firstinitallastname”, as in “334tscarlatos”. Then you can edit the site to have a separate page/tab for each of your assignments.

The start page should have your project description and project title. The project description page should have your SBU gmail contact info, and a link to your shared Google drive. Other pages are About Me (self portrait exercise) - Character Sheet - Storyboard - Audio - 3D Model - 3D Still - Pencil Test - Final - References. On each page of your site you should have a brief text rationale for your design decisions.

For each development cycle, after you have updated your web site, send the URL in an email to intromm@cs.stonybrook.edu, with the name of the assignment in the subject line (such as “Project Description”).

Important note: when you upload an assignment to your project web site on you.stonybrook.edu, there is a properties window for the selected media item in the lower right corner of the interface. You should choose “full size” from the drop down menu for ‘Size’, so that WordPress does not scale the item automatically to the default setting.

On Google Drive you should create a directory for all your assignments. For each assignment you need to upload a source and a rendered file. For the self portrait, for example, you will need a .psd (Photoshop) or .xcf (GIMP) source file, and also a .png rendered file. Make sure the Google Drive directory is shared with intromm@cs.stonybrook.edu.

For your final term project submission, in addition to your project web site, you should have a Google Drive backup of the following:

1) Source and rendered file for each assignment.
Self Portrait (psd or xcf, and png)
Character Sheet (psd or xcf, and png)
Storyboard (psd, or xcf, or comic, and png)
Audio (aup and related folder, or band, and mp3)
3d model (blend and related folder, and png)
Video (blend and related folder, and mp4)

2) Final project video (high quality rendering).

3) ReadMe file - should contain the URL for the project documentation, and any other notes you want to include, such as calling out updates you made to your assignments after getting feedback.

Rubric:

1) Project web site has all required pages, as tabs

2) Web pages have required content and text description (rationale)

3) Site navigation is clear and consistent

4) A source and rendered file for each assignment was backed up to a shared Google Drive directory, linked to start page of project web site

5) Final project web site and Google Drive directory URL's were emailed to intromm@cs.stonybrook.edu, and properly shared
