Supreeth Narasimhaswamy

About Me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Stony Brook University. Since Spring 2019, I have been working in the Computer Vision Lab under the supervision of Prof. Minh Hoai Nguyen. My broad research interests are in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. I am generally interested in object detection and tracking, video understanding, and learning from limited data.

My current research focuses on understanding human hands in visual data. For example, consider a scene with people interacting with their surroundings. How can we detect hands? How to track hands across videos? Do hands contact with objects or humans? What are the contact regions? How do hands grasp and interact with objects? How can we use hand interactions to better model people's activities in the scene? I am interested in using this information and AR/ VR to assist people in performing complex tasks. Conversely, I am also interested in
developing computer vision methods to provide better AR/ VR experiences.
