January 5-6: Ouarzazate - The Rose Noire

7:10am: We had the penthouse and this was the view we had when stepping out of the room.

This was the view we had when just waking up, gorgeous. The sun was rising over the palm trees.

Akiko missed these moments.
Breakfast was ready.

Waking up with fresh coffee, dates, croissants, danishs, toast, and juice.

A view onto our room.

A floor below. 'The Rose Noire' was actually a movie (see framed picture on the left),
and the man of the house, a French guy, is the director of the Atlas filmstudio,
as we found out in the morning.

He came to Ouarzazate from France and apparently fell in love with a local lady, named Rose and pictured here, and they rehabbed this building as a bed and breakfast, the 'Auberge de al Rose Noire'.

We made our way back to the car through the meandering medina.
The 'Rose Noire' was inside the famous kasbah of Taourirt.

Here another shot of it. The next page will take us across the atlas to Marrakesh.
