The IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM) 2026 invites submissions to its inaugural Doctoral Forum, a new initiative that provides a dedicated venue for PhD students, at all stages of their doctoral studies, as well as research-oriented master’s students intending to pursue a PhD, to present and discuss their research with the broader BIBM community.
The Doctoral Forum aims to bring together master students conducting research in bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical informatics, digital health, and broader areas related to biology, medicine, and biomedical data science. It offers students an opportunity to showcase their ongoing research, receive feedback from experts, and engage with peers and senior researchers from diverse disciplines represented at BIBM.
The BIBM 2026 Doctoral Forum will follow the scholarly standards of the main conference. The accepted papers will be included in the IEEE BIBM 2026 Conference Proceedings.
Submissions are open to students currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program and to research-oriented master’s students with a clear intention to pursue doctoral studies. The student applicant must be the first author, primary contributor, and presenter of the submission. Co-authors, including advisors and collaborators, may be included.
Two awards will be presented: one Best Paper Award, with a monetary prize of $500, and one Best Paper Runner-Up Award.
Doctoral Forum authors may apply for a BIBM travel award, subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of funds. Travel award recipients may be asked to volunteer at the conference. Registration fees may be waived for travel awardees, and travel expenses may be partially reimbursed depending on available funding, conference policy, and the number of recipients.
All deadlines are 11:59:59 p.m. Anywhere on Earth, AoE.
Submissions must be made through the online submission system by 11:59:59 p.m. AoE on the stated deadline.
