Dialect Examples

This page contains examples of one type of speaker variation: dialect. We provide examples for: American English (GA), Strong Long Island (SLI), Long Island (GLI), and Indian English (IE; north and south). Our speakers are all local to Stony Brook, and read sentences from a calendar management task. To hear an example, click on the example's link.
