April 2008: The workshops schedule is available online!

April 2008: The advance program is posted online. In addition to regular paper sessions and poster paper sessions, SMI08 also features two invited talks, two mini-symposia, and SHREC contest.

March 2008: Student Conference Housing information and application form posted online.

February 2008: Detailed Preparation Guidelines for camera-ready papers were posted and sent to all authors. Author notifications were sent out.

February 2008: Visa application letter posted to main page.

February 2008: The conference registration site is open. The hotel information is also available!

January 2008: Professor Wenping Wang and Professor Tao Ju accept invations to speak at SMI08. Their bios and links to home pages are published on the SMI08 website

November 2007: Due to numerous requests from authors, the paper submission deadline is extended to December 9, 2007

October 2007: Selected papers of outstanding quality will be published in: IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, Graphical Models, The Visual Computer and International Journal of Shape Modeling!

October 2007: The SMI08 conference paper submission system was set up.

September 2007: The International Program Committee was formed and finalized.

July 2007: The International Program Committee was being formed.

June 2007: The Organization Committee was finalized. The paper deadlines were announced. The conference website was setup.

May 2007: The first announcement and the call for papers for Stony Brook Modeling Week and IEEE International Conference on Shape Modeling and Applications 2008 (SMI'08) were broadcast to different mailing lists. You are welcome to download the PDF files here and forward them to your colleagues !
