Solve the following exercises from the Kurose Ross textbook. The problem numbers refer to the 5th edition of the book in the US. The problem numbers may be different in an older edition or the international edition of the book. You will need to solve the assigned problems in order to receive a grade.
Answer the following question about wireless MAC protocols.
Consider a network of 7 nodes placed on a straight line at regular intervals of distance R. Assume that R is also the wireless transmit range as well as the interference/carrier sense range. This means that within a distance R nodes hear each other perfectly, and beyond R they hear nothing. Assume that node 4 is transmitting a packet to node 5. Can the following packet transmissions go on successfully (i.e., the protocol will allow transmission and no packet will collide) concurrent with the above transmission? Answer this question for 802.11 basic access (i.e., no RTS/CTS), 802.11 with RTS/CTS, and BTMA. Explain your answer in each case.
